Before
you start

I have never flown before. Can I start?

Yes. The P2 Trainee Pilot course is for complete beginners; no previous experience is needed.

What age can you start paragliding?

Those who have turned 16 can join with parental consent, and those who have turned 18 can join on their own decision. There is no upper age limit as long as your health allows.

Is there a height or weight limit?

The suitable weight range for the equipment we use is 45–110 kg; a height of 150–200 cm is ideal.

Do I need a medical report?

A standard medical report showing that there is no condition preventing air sports is required.

Do I need to be physically prepared?

You don’t need to be athletic. Being able to run a short distance on a gentle slope is enough. Glasses and contact lenses are not a problem.

Course, price
and licence

How does the P2 course work?

First you do 3–5 days of ground handling at Maltepe Beach (weekdays 20:00 after work, weekends after 16:00). Then you make 5 flights in 2 days at the İnönü THK Campus.

How much is the P2 course?

The Istanbul programme is 30,000 TL and the 4–5 day block course at İnönü is 30,000 TL; the price is the same for both.

What is included in the price and what is not?

Included: wing, harness, helmet, radio, hill access at İnönü. Not included: the THSF certificate fee and accommodation.

Where do I stay at İnönü?

In the campus dormitory: 520 TL per person in a 4-bed room, 1,350 TL for a single room. There is a canteen on campus.

Do I need to buy any equipment?

No. In P2 the academy provides the equipment. There is no brand pressure.

Who issues the licence?

Our training is approved by the Turkish Air Sports Federation (THSF). At the end of P2 you receive the THSF Course Completion Certificate; from P3 onwards you receive a THSF level card. The APPI international certificate is not included in the fee; it is a separate programme taken after the THSF training.

When are the course dates?

We open new courses continuously. Just message us on WhatsApp for the nearest date.

How much are the P3, P4 and P5 courses?

P3 is 60,000 TL; P4 and P5 are 50,000 TL each. Personal accident insurance is included.

Is S.I.V. training included in the P3 and P4 fees?

Yes. S.I.V. training is included and takes place in Ölüdeniz. Once most of the class has gained a certain amount of experience, S.I.V. is scheduled. You become eligible for your certificate after completing S.I.V. and the other flight tasks.

Is insurance included in the fee?

Yes. Personal accident insurance is included in the course fee.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Flights may be postponed. Our club is on the field every day, on weekdays and weekends, ready to fly; flying may not be possible every day.

Can I get a refund?

No, course fees are non-refundable.

Flying and
safety

I am afraid of heights. Can I fly?

At launch your feet leave the ground gradually; you don’t get a falling sensation. Most students overcome their hesitation during ground handling as they learn to control the wing.

Is paragliding dangerous?

As in every air sport, there are risks. These risks are managed with proper training, choosing suitable weather, following the rules and well-maintained equipment. That is why we do 3–5 days of ground handling before flying.

In what weather do we fly?

Only in conditions your instructor considers suitable and within aviation limits. If the weather isn’t suitable, the flight is postponed.

How do I communicate with my instructor while flying?

By radio. Your instructor guides you from launch to landing.
