Pilot gliding under a purple wing over Ölüdeniz

Safe flying starts with the right training.

If you have never flown, you are in the right place. You get to know your wing on the ground first, then make your first flights with your instructors guiding you by radio. No rush, no pressure: you become a pilot step by step with THSF-approved training.

Ground first,
then the sky.

You don’t memorise a launch; you launch once you can truly control the wing on the ground. That is why we do ground handling before any flight.

Three steps
to your first flight.

Student practising wing control on the ground

1

Ground handling

Over 3–5 days you learn to inflate and control the wing. Once you can truly manage it on the ground, you move on to flying.

2

Theory and 5 flights at İnönü

After the theory lesson your instructor guides you by radio; you make 5 flights in 2 days at the İnönü THK Campus.

Certificate and club

You receive your THSF Course Completion Certificate and keep flying with the club. When you are ready, P3 gets you your first level card.

From the first step
to mastery.

If you are starting from zero, your path begins with P2. Every level follows the THSF 2026 guide; the APPI international certificate is a separate programme.

Ferdi Toy, founder and head instructor of Ferdi Toy Flight Academy

Founder and head instructor

Ferdi Toy

National team athlete; Turkish champion and Turkish League champion. He flies paragliding, BASE and wingsuit, and is an APPI instructor. He made Turkey’s first night speed ride flight on Ergan Mountain in Erzincan.

He takes part in the courses personally as an instructor. His aim is not for students to memorise launch and landing, but to become pilots who can read the air and make their own decisions.

“The sky is not a place, it is a discipline.” — Ferdi Toy

No rush,
no pressure.

Dates, instructors, price and what is included are written down before you sign up. The course moves at your pace; you never launch before you are ready.

No brand pressure

When it is time to buy your own wing (P3 and beyond), you choose the brand; we don’t steer you towards a sale.

No time pressure

Ground handling lasts until you can truly control the wing. We adjust the schedule to you, and nobody pushes you to “fly today”.

No waiting for a full class

We open courses continuously. You don’t wait for a group to fill up; just message us for a date.

Your first
questions

I have never flown before. Can I join?

Yes. The P2 Trainee Pilot course is for complete beginners; no previous experience is needed.

Do I need to buy any equipment?

No. During P2 the academy provides the wing, harness, helmet and radio. When you buy your own gear later, we don’t push any brand.

What is included in the price and what is not?

The P2 course costs 30,000 TL; both the Istanbul programme and the İnönü block course include the wing, harness, helmet, radio and hill access at İnönü. The THSF certificate fee and accommodation are not included.

Where and when is ground training?

Weekdays at 20:00 after work, weekends after 16:00. For the location, see the Istanbul page.

What do I get at the end of P2?

Our training is approved by the Turkish Air Sports Federation (THSF). At the end of P2 you receive the THSF Course Completion Certificate; from P3 onwards you receive a THSF level card. The APPI international certificate is not included in the fee; it is a separate programme taken after the THSF training.
